America in Crisis: Signs of the End?
The message from Washington D.C. this week has been very clear: “The current financial crisis could quickly escalate into the Great Depression II…” History records that the ‘Great Depression’ was set in motion by the Wall Street stock market ”crash” that occurred on October 27, 1929 and affected the lives of millions of average Americans for nearly a decade.
It was a dark chapter in American history–and one that 21st century Politicians certainly do not wish to replicate. It was a time of intense pain and suffering, mental anguish, fear and uncertainty. The pride of American hopes and dreams was dashed as people lost everything they had worked so hard to accomplish. Fear and anxiety increased the panic in the hearts of people as was evidenced by significant increases in violence, crime and suicide.

[A] McCain, [B] Obama, [C] None of the Above…
“I am John McCain, er I mean Barack Obama, and I approved this blog…” I have heard so many of these political commercials during the past year that the I can almost recite them in my sleep. As a former manager of West Texas a radio station I remember the days when we would receive a media “buy” that would saturate our air-waves with one political message after another–Republican, Democrat, Independent etc, they all sound the same after about the 1000th time you are forced to listen to over and over again! Republicans attacking the Democrats about their “liberal” agenda, and Democrats attacking Republications about “radical right wing” politics and “conservative” social agenda. It is a seasonal “tug-of-war” and what hangs in the balance is the destiny of our nation–pulled in opposite directions by opposing forces, both of whom believe they are what is “right” for the country.
