150K on Clothes? You Betcha!
Are we talking today about 1,500 employees of Yahoo! losing their jobs, or how the numbers on Wall Street continue their downward trend, or fires that are burning out of control all over California? Nope. We are talking about the price of clothing purchased by the McCain campaign for running mate, Sarah Palin.
Apparently, since the announcement of Sarah Palin as the Republican Vice Presidential candidate, some $150,000 has been spent shopping at Saks, Nieman-Marcus and on hair stylists. I live in California where the median annual income is about $70,000 for the “average” person who lives and works in this state. I personally make about 20% less than what is considered “average” in this state and am astonished by the obvious “disconnect” between what candidates say, and what they actually do–Republicans and Democrats alike. For some of us, $150,000 represents more than three-years salary. Read more »
